In 2008, we celebrate the 11th Annual Tea for Two Hundred. The proceeds from the event will help NCAP provide much needed HIV/AIDS education, prevention and direct care services and help SBAP to provide crisis and support services to victims of domestic and sexual violence and education/prevention programs. Annually, NCAP and SBAP combined provide services to over 10,000 people in northwestern Connecticut.

Northwestern Connecticut AIDS Project
|
|
Northwestern Connecticut AIDS Project (NCAP) is a not-for-profit
organization dedicated to increasing the understanding of HIV/AIDS through community outreach and prevention education, while embracing the diversity of the individuals we serve.
NCAP, the second oldest AIDS agency in the state, was founded in 1985 by Gerard Wagner, a Litchfield County resident with AIDS. A grassroots organization, NCAP initially consisted of a hotline in Gerard’s kitchen. Until his death in 1986, Gerard dedicated himself to enlightening people about the AIDS crisis, and to helping others with HIV/AIDS.

The Susan B. Anthony Project (SBAP) works to promote
the autonomy of women and the safety of all victims of domestic abuse and sexual assault in northwest Connecticut as well as promote community action towards ending domestic violence and sexual abuse.
Today, Susan B. Anthony Project continues on its path to help rebuild the lives of those shattered by domestic abuse and sexual assault as they move from crisis to confidence. These services are provided free of charge, to more than 2,500 people per year through both crisis and non-crisis programs. Education and prevention programs reach an additional 12,000 people every year. Services include: emergency shelter; transitional housing; 24-hour crisis line; counseling, advocacy and support groups; community education and outreach.
